sister’s baby bump.

i’m busy going through the thousands (literally thousands) of photos i took this weekend back in california during taylor’s bridal shower/bachelorette party weekend extravaganza.  it was a ridiculously fun weekend and i promise i will have lots of posts up next week to share some of my pics!  in the meantime, here is a photo from the trip of my older sister kimberlee who is probably the cutest pregnant lady in. the. world.  i mean, seriously, how adorable is she!?  i haven’t seen her since the day we got engaged and it is so insane, amazing, miraculous, and exciting how babies grow!

love you kimbo. thanks for letting me showcase your cute baby-bearing self across the interwebs.

here i come.

[photo taken on my iphone during my last trip to LA]

first of all – thank you all so much for your sweet comments on our engagement photos!  second of all – i am SO excited for this weekend!  i am jetting off to CA again right after work and it is going to be a whirlwind three days celebrating my lovely soon-to-be sister in law with a bridal shower and a bachelorette party!  my sister and i (with the help of our amazing mama) have been hard at work planning her shower for the past few months and i have been designing up a storm.  i can’t wait to show you all a few of the things i’ve been working on after this weekend!  happy memorial day!

our engagement photos.

we did a little engagement session with our good friend (and one of my favorite photographers)  brooke a few weekends ago.  she is ridiculously talented and we really LOVE how they came out (especially since we are the most awkward models and don’t know how to pose).   check out her website here.  thanks so much b!  you’re the besttttt.

mango smoothies.

yes, i am just as shocked as you are that i’m actually doing a “food post” and giving you guys a so called “recipe” (yeah, i’m pretty sure you can’t even call it that).  me and the kitchen are not the best of friends, but me and my blender..we get along just fine.  and now that my mango tree is providing an abundance of ripe fruit, it’s time to get down to business with my smoothies.  i blended one frozen banana, one frozen mango, and apple juice (told you it wasn’t a real recipe) and DANG.  deliciousness in a cup.  then i made another version with frozen acai.  oh gosh.  also delicious and very refreshing.  and since mangoes are falling off of the tree left and right, i’ve been giving bags away to our friends!

so happy it’s friday.

sorry for the lack of blogging lately, but it’s been a rough couple of weeks.  work has been really stressful.  i’ve been making dumb and careless mistakes, feeling incompetent, inadequate, and a whole slew of other self-deprecating adjectives that i’ll spare you in this pity party i’m throwing for myself over here.  ANYWAYS, it’s friday now and friday always makes me happy.  and so do these photos taken over the past few months.  here’s to a weekend filled with no tears and lots of smiles!

a boating adventure.

hawaii was pretty unreal yesterday.  the weather was absolutely perfect and the water was perfectly teal blue.  for mother’s day, we took reis’ mom out in his parents’ little boat and cruised to goat island.  we had so much fun!  i forgot my bathing suit so i wore my running shorts, a sports bra, and my pajama top.  classy.  i can’t wait to get out there again and spend all day just lounging around and exploring!  i love weekends.  and i really love hawaii.
