well it sure has been a while since one of these posts!  since scottee and i both kinda sorta have a crush on the olsen twins, i had the grand idea to copy mk and a this week.

today i’m stoked that it’s friday!  i have lots on my to-do list this weekend and christmas shopping better go down because december is just flyinggg by.  actually, this whole year has just flown by.  seriously, where did 2011 go??  i swear i say that every year though.  my family is coming to visit on thursday for 10 days and i. cannot. wait!  i have so much to look forward to this month and i want it to go by slowly so i can enjoy all of it!  happy weekend!


peppermint mocha milkshake.

now that it’s been at least a week from the most indulgent eating day of the year, i think it’s about time to indulge some more!

reis has been crazyyy studying this past week for a huge test that he has this morning (say a prayer for him, will ya?).  that means he’s been having lots of late nights.  that also means the boy needed some serious coffee to stay awake and burn the midnight oil.  i decided to be a good little girlfriend and made him a super delish holiday sweet treat infused with caffeine.  i present you with the peppermint mocha milkshake.  blend the above ingredients and voilaaa!

(i know i already shared some pics of my dining room table a while back, but now the look i was going for is complete!)  this weekend i FINALLY bought 2 more chairs (so now i actually have 4!).  i got the table and the 2 wooden chairs on craigslist and have been on the hunt for 2 more chairs for quite some time…i’m talking months.  i saw these two white chairs at ross for $60 bucks each and basically fell in love with the stud detail.  now my house just feels more cozy and complete (its a wonder what 2 chairs can do) and i have just been loving sitting at my dining room table while burning my pumpkin spice candle and doing design work.  i’m pretty sure i have done that every night since i got them, by the way.

now who wants to come over for dinner?  you can sit in my new chairs.  and i’ll even make you pasta.  (because thats pretty much the only thing i know how to make.)

birthday beach bbq.

reis and i went to a birthday beach barbeque at magic island for my old roomies, nicky & jess, on saturday night.  i got all domestic and baked brownies to bring to the party.  i wish i could say i made them from scratch, but i have mr. ghiradelli to thank for the goodness of these babies.  it was a fun night catching up with good friends and eating yummy food.  oh, and i was paparazzi lady and took lots of pictures like always.  happy birthday nick and jess!  so glad i got to celebrate with you and i love you both mucho.

since the weather seems to be getting a tid-bit cooler these days, i am taking FULL advantage of wearing layers and sweaters any chance i get.  i may have to wear shorts with my sweaters and roll the sleeves up so i don’t suffer from a heat stroke, but hey, i’m really trying to pretend like its fall over here.

a rainy (and cold!) sunday.

for the first time in a longgg time, the weather got cold on sunday (and by cold, i mean mid-70s..don’t laugh).  even though it rains a lot in hawaii, it rarely gets cool enough to wear a sweatshirt, so i was pretty stoked on the weather.  we spent the day on the north shore like always and while reis surfed, i hung out at a friend’s house.  we both studied (by the way, my online city college classes are kicking my butt.  pathetic, i know) and then she made me homemade hot chocolate.  oh my goodness it was so delish and i felt so cozy drinking it on a rainy day.  she even has a foamer-thing that made the hot choc all frothy.  YUM.  when reis got in from surfing i begged him to go running with me and he finally gave in.  this was his first time running and dang, that boy is FAST for a first timer.  especially in the rain!  let’s just say our run was a casual jog for him and a speedwork-gasping-for-air-sprint for me.  what the heck?  why are guys naturally faster at everything?  now i’m trying to convince him to run a race with me!  he took some of my runner’s world magazines last night so i’m secretly thinking he loved it.  woohoo!
