an exciting weekend.

coming to california is always so much better when this guy comes with me.

tomorrow my not-so-little-anymore brother is getting married and we could not be more excited for him and his lovely bride.  i love all weddings, but i especially love weddings of the people closest to me.

see you next week with lots of photos and posts (hopefully)!

a celebratory weekend: part II.

i’m pretty sure i slept a total of about 4 hours during memorial day weekend.  between a red-eye flight on friday (where i try so very hard to sleep the whole 5 hours but never can!), having my best friends over until 1 am on saturday, and going out for taylor’s bachelorette party on sunday, it’s a pretty valid statement.  right after the bridal shower, we took taylor out in a swanky limo to LA for a night of dinner and lots of dancing.  we ate at the well-known and super delicious restaurant, bottega louie.  (and obviously had a photo shoot in our 30 minute wait).  the whole weekend was SO much fun (and completely worth the lack of sleep).  i loved spending so much time with the bride-to-be and her super sweet bridal party!  i cannot wait for their wedding!

a celebratory weekend: part I.

during memorial day weekend, my sister and i threw a bridal shower for our brother’s beautiful fiancé taylor.  it was an amazing non-stop weekend and we also went out for her bachelorette party!  (plus my sis managed to sneak in a surprise mini engagement party for me with my best friends from high school!)

for taylor’s shower, we went with a “CAbi” theme since taylor is a consultant for the clothing company.  everything was pink and feminine and very theme oriented (i.e. we had peach bellinis called “cabi-llinis”).  we loved planning all of the little details and we are so excited to gain this gorgeous girl as our sister in 2 weeks!  she’s a special one, that girl.  well done, brother.

sister’s baby bump.

i’m busy going through the thousands (literally thousands) of photos i took this weekend back in california during taylor’s bridal shower/bachelorette party weekend extravaganza.  it was a ridiculously fun weekend and i promise i will have lots of posts up next week to share some of my pics!  in the meantime, here is a photo from the trip of my older sister kimberlee who is probably the cutest pregnant lady in. the. world.  i mean, seriously, how adorable is she!?  i haven’t seen her since the day we got engaged and it is so insane, amazing, miraculous, and exciting how babies grow!

love you kimbo. thanks for letting me showcase your cute baby-bearing self across the interwebs.

february 26.

sunday, february 26 was one of the best days of my life.  seriously.  that was the morning that reis proposed.  which by itself was enough to put me in “oh-my-goodness-i’m-so-excited-happy-ecstatic-i-could-fly-over-the-moon” world.  he purposely proposed that morning because my sister and brother-in-law were flying into oahu for a 4-hour layover that afternoon before heading to kona to visit his family.  my sister is my other half/best friend and reis knew how much it would mean to me to be able to see her on that special day!  we surprised them at the airport with my new piece of jewelry and lots of screaming and hugs went down on that airport curb…like LOTS.  little did we know they also had big news they had planned on telling us that day too.  when we got to the restaurant, kimberlee and blake gave us a belated “anniversary gift.”  we opened our gifts and pulled out matching mugs saying “auntie jaymee”and “uncle reis.”  yeah.  let’s just say LOTS more screaming and hugging took place right there in that parking lot.  it was quite a HUGE, wonderful, emotional, and amazing weekend for our family and we could not be more excited for the new additions to our family this year (+ my brother is also getting married this year)!!!

congrats kimmy and blake!  you both are going to make an amazing mommy and daddy.  i can’t wait to meet the little nugget.

family new year’s card.

these are the new year’s cards i designed these for my mama and i had fun making it a little bit different than a typical group shot christmas card!

and for the record, no, reis and i did not break up …mom just says you can’t go on the front of the fam christmas card until you are an “official” part of the fam :)
