going to disneyland with a one year old is quite possibly the only thing that rivals the feeling you get on christmas morning as a child. we recently had a family outing to this magical theme park to take ryan for her first time! she won’t remember any of it, but we sure will. seeing her eyes light up everywhere we went (especially on the carousel!) was the most adorable thing to witness. by the way, disneyland is FUN. reis and i went totally expecting to have a blast hanging with my family and the little rybear, but little did we know we would have the time of our lives!! we haven’t been in several years and man, i love that place! we even stayed after my whole family left!

disneyland really is the happiest place on earth.

Lake Arrowhead | JayAdores

here is a long overdue post of our trip to lake arrowhead for ann-marie’s bachelorette weekend! sidenote: she got married 3 weeks ago and the wedding was amazing (you may have already seen some pics on instagram – #ammlovesjohn – but oh my, it was unreal!)

we (the b-maids) whisked away the bride-to-be a few weeks before the wedding for an awesome and relaxing 2 days in a cabin in the woods! ann-marie was literally knee deep in diy projects for months in preparation for the wedding and we wanted this to be a much needed break from it all! we rented this gorgeous cabin on airbnb and it was perfect. we were actually tempted to steal a few of the rugs and some of the decor from the place because everything was so beautiful! we slept in, walked around the lake, ate delicious food, drank wine and moscow mules, ate some more, did yoga on the deck led by this gal, and had plenty of hilariously entertaining conversations. we had such a good time together and i think mountain/cabin retreats with girlfriends need to become an annual thing. sound good, gals?!

Eva Black's Pasadena Home | JayAdores

a few weeks ago i had a coffee + shopping date with my friend eva in pasadena. if you don’t already follow her blog, you should. girl is crazy talented – i mean, just look at her hand drawn lettering! we met up at her house and after seeing her beautiful apartment for the first time, i just had to bust out my camera (which btw, i keep in my purse at all times) and take photos to share on here. it’s such an amazing space! eva has impeccable style and the neutral tones make it so warm and inviting. the old windows are perfection and the light that floods their entire place is gorgeous. eva and her husband are currently expecting their first babe and are in the midst of converting her office to an office/nursery and i can’t wait to see it all done! especially with this as her mood board, it’s undoubtedly going to be one stylish space.

ONE YEAR!

i cannot believe it has been ONE WHOLE YEAR since this magical day! i love him more than i did a year ago, that is for certain (and i loved him a whole lot on our wedding day!).

we got home last night from a week spent in hawaii visiting family + friends and are off today for a few days in santa barbara – where it all began! and of course we are going to watch this (for the thousandth time) to reminisce.

Ryan Nicole's First Birthday | JayAdores

last thursday, my precious niece’s first birthday was featured on 100 layer cakelet! my talented and creative sister deserves all the credit for this adorable party and i just love everything she did. perfectly feminine and sweet. all of our big life events (weddings, parties, showers) turn into family affairs and that’s just the way we like it. my sister planned the whole thing and DIYed all of the decor including the triangle garland backdrop, the bunting, the gift bags, the cake topper, etc. i designed the invitations and envelope liners knowing the aesthetic and colors my sis wanted to use, hand lettering the “ryan nicole” and “one.” our mom made all of the balloon poms hanging from the patio and the giant balloon with fringe tassels. and our good-friend-practically-sister, diane, made that beautiful cake!

i cannot believe our sweet little ryan is already one! i love her more than words can say and have loved watching her grow and develop over the past year. i am so excited for the next phase of her talking and walking and becoming a little lady! she sure gets me excited to have one of our own someday.

happy 1st birthday, ryan! we love you a wholeee lot.
