wednesday night.

i loveee going out to dinner on week nights.  something about it just feels kinda special.  last night i didn’t want to cook (not that i ever do anyways) and we were going to get our usual mexican fix, but reis wanted bread so we got italian instead.  and then frozen yogurt followed per usual.  now this morning i’m off to run off all those yummy carbs i ate.  happy thursday!  two days until the three day weekend!

i really like copying other people’s style.  it sure does make getting dressed in the morning a lot easier.  and shows you that i have no original fashion sense of my own.  and i’m okay with that.

nesting.

is it bad that it’s only monday and i’m already counting down the days until the THREE DAY WEEKEND!?  yahoooo for labor day!

the majority of my weekend was spent in my new place organizing, cleaning, decorating, crafting…basically it was a big nest-fest.  it’s slowly coming together and feeling more homey which i love!

i finally got all of my important files and documents filed away neatly in my desk drawer complete with labels i printed out!  it feels so good to have things organized so i don’t spend 3 hours digging through a pile of papers when i need something.

my hair sheds like, a lot.  a lot a lot.  and my floors just needed a good sweeping anyways, so i used my new leopard broom (that i got at ross for $4!) to sweep up my place.  it’s crazy how much cleaner i feel just by taking the 4 minutes it takes to sweep my floors.

i did a little DIY project and finally got something up on my walls!  and i love how it turned out.  exactly how i envisioned.  (love when that happens).  more pics to come later this week!

and of course i ate some ice cream.  typical.

hope you all had a great weekend and you east coasters stayed safe!

back to school.

on monday i went back to school.  kind of.  i’m taking two online classes for units.  see, i’m a CPA….almost.  i have the required experience hours, i passed the test, blah blah blah, but i’m short twelve measly college units.  it’s pretty dumb actually.  cause these units could be in anything — i just need the dang units.  why taking a course in hospitality and tourism will make me a better cpa is beyond me, but i don’t make the rules.  i’m also taking a tax class which should be easy considering that’s what i do for a living…but we shall see.

reis will be studying for the next 50 years of his life so now our nights look a lot like this.  woo hoo!  aren’t we fun??

miss chinatown.

this past saturday night i spent in chinatown at the hawaii theater (how cute and old-fashioned is it?!)  to watch my old roomie nicky compete in the miss chinatown pageant.  it was fun getting dressed up, going to the theater, waving signs of her face, and screaming insanely loud for her along with the rest of her humongous cheering section.  and she kinda rocked it.  cause she WON.  she gets to go to miss hawaii this year!  she looked gorgeous and did a beautifullll job strutting her stuff up on that stage.  so proud of you, nick!!

am i really doing a fashion post??  yes, yes i am.  (my blog is so dang random, why not add one more element to it?!)  i know this whole idea has been done before with the whole “look-for-less” theme going on, but i am pretty dang good at finding steal deals if i do say so myself.  sooo, once a week i’m going to be picking an image (from pinterest, of course) and copying the outfit.  on the cheap.  sound good?

chambray shirt/$16, shorts/$13, & belt/$5 from Forever 21 + sperry topsiders/$30 from nordstrom rack
