today i’m sharing these photos that were taken over a year ago during one of our visits back to hawaii. our friends brooke & cassandra live on the north shore of oahu in the coolest little bungalow that feels like it’s in the middle of the jungle. i mean, just look what brooke gets to wake up to every morning! total dreamland. both of these gals are extremely talented + successful in their creative fields, brooke as a photographer, and cass a clothing designer/seamstress. they are also the founders of the popular lifestyle brand roam hawaii. their cozy home reflects their laid back lifestyle and i love how it feels so secluded from the rest of the world!

today i’m excited to share with you the home of two of our friends on the north shore of oahu, kyle + alana! we saw them during our visit a few months ago and they let me snap some photos of their place. both of them were born and raised in hawaii and are extremely talented at what they do. she co-owns the rad jewelry company thread and stone and he is a graphic + clothing designer. their home is so well curated and i love how it reflects their personal aesthetic. so many beautiful vignettes everywhere you look! the white paneled walls, wood floors, all of the plants, and their chic tropical accents make it the perfect little island abode. i’m kind of in love with what they’ve done with the place. thanks kyle and alana!

it’s been a few months…but i’m finally getting around to sharing some photos from our trip in may to hawaii! this summer has been filled with lots of design + wedding filming + editing, so going through the 5 million photos i took on our trip got thrown to the back burner.

anyways! we galavanted all over the island going on all sorts of adventures. reis’ dad has the coolest zebra dingy that we took out to the kanohe sandbar one morning. i’m not quite sure how i’d never been out to the sandbar before, but it’s incredible! it’s pretty amazing being in the middle of the ocean walking on sand with a perfect view of the majestic ko’olau mountains (jurassic park, anyone?). later on during our trip we somehow decided that swimming with sharks would be a good idea. our friend kaiwi owns a bout tour business in hale’iwa and took us out for a joyride one afternoon. before i knew it, everyone was jumping in the water to swim with these terrifying creatures. there was no way i was going in. peer pressure eventually got the best of me and i ended up jumping in for approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds. it was an adrenaline rush for sureeeee. we also ventured into town for a couple of days and visited our old stomping grounds (my fave coffee shop!), old house, and good ol’ waikiki. our good friends duke and karla flew in for the week from the big island so we all stayed together on the north shore and had the best time. we don’t get to see them enough! naturally karla was my muse for the week and i took lots and lots of photos of her gorgeous self.

another week in paradise well spent. we’ll be back soon, hawaii!
