i have slowly been building my design library over the past few years and wanted to share some gems i’ve found along the way. so much inspiration!!

the monocle guide to good business

i was first lured in by its beautiful linen cover and gold foiled title but i promise the contents inside are just as good as the outside! this book features several companies and their inspiring stories on how they came to be and got to where they are.

knife + fork

if you’re a design loving foodie, this is the book for you. the pages are filled with unconventional visual identities for restaurants and the food + beverage industry. not only do these companies care about the quality of their products and what they serve, but they are also passionate about creating beautiful packaging, gorgeous menus, and designing their shops in innovative ways (cause i mean, your space definitely has to be ‘grammable these days).

this book was just released in march of this year and i’m obsessed! even my husband was buried in it one night and kept commenting on how cool it was. it showcases various brands from around the world ranging from florists to supermarkets to oak floor specialists who have recognized the need for strong communication of their vision through creative branding. i’ve never seen so many incredible products and companies in one place and the impeccable designs, collateral, and packaging inspiration make this book worth every penny!

you guys, for the first time in the past year and a half (!), i finally got around to updating my portfolio with lots of new projects! check it out >>> here. i’ve gotten to work with some amazing clients on some really fun projects and i’ll be sharing some of them in more detail here on the blog, starting today with the moon & co.!

i’m so excited to finally share the completed branding project i worked on for the moon & co., a creative event workspace in downtown los angeles. working with molly was a total dream. she had a great vision for her new space and gave me complete creative freedom with the design. we started with her logo and from there, built out the entire brand with a website, business cards, and other print collateral. take a look around her website here. i love how it turned out and a huge thank you to the talented and amazing lindsay of hello monday creative who developed the site! her business cards are also some of my very favorites featuring neutral colors and a blind debossed logo (letterpressed by the one and only presshaus la).

it’s been so fun to see molly’s space all over instagram and all of the shoots, events, etc. that have been happening there! if you’re looking in la to rent a space for your event, i highly recommend the moon and co.!

i have some upcoming travels (some work, some personal) this month + next and on my last trip i realized that carrying my toiletries in a ziploc bag is not all that cute. i also discovered that good toiletry bags are hard to find! i searched high and low and these are my favorites that i found on the interwebs (pretty sure dopp kits are technically for men, but whatever, i think they’d do a fine job holding my shampoo):

back in january, i hosted a baby shower at our place for my sister’s second little lovebug. it rains approximately 5 days out of the year in los angeles and one of those days just so happened to land on the day of this outdoor affair. everything worked out in the end and the rain actually created the coziest ambience for the afternoon! i went with a french fête theme and used lots of linen and wood elements combined with greenery galore. we ordered sandwiches from le pain quotidien and made the rest, including these delicious french cheese balls (aka gougères) served hot out of the oven. highly recommend that recipe! each guest got a sea salt facial scrub at their place setting and after seeing this place pop up all over instagram, i was inspired to wrap the coffee cups in different french papers. any day surrounded by close family and friends (+ the tunes of francoise hardy) celebrating the newest addition to our family is a really good day in my book! kylee arrived on february 17 and i can’t get enough of those sweet cheeks!
